story / art direction / visual development / animation
This microfilm is my submission for the quarterly Zoetrope event hosted by Pyrite Press & Doggo Studios! Every three months, local artists are invited to read their comics alongside a small animation showcase. We were prompted to make short animations around the theme “Summer”, and this was the idea that I came up with! It was an awesome learning experience and a fun challenge to fit a story in less than 30 seconds. It feels good to make something personal again :o)
While brainstorming story ideas revolving around “Summer”, I thought a lot about my childhood in the midwest. The nostalgia inspired me to create a story dedicated to my old friends and our times back then, back when we felt invincible.
Thanks for taking a look! :o)
